Iowa Speedway results, points after race 1: Josef Newgarden scored his fourth IndyCar win at the Iowa Speedway, leading 208 of 250 laps.

The two-time IndyCar Series champion moved up to second place in the championship standings, closing the gap to 15 points behind Marcus Ericsson.

Pato O’Ward was second and Will Power third. Championship leader Marcus Ericsson finished eighth.

Rinus VeeKay and Scott Dixon completed the top five.

Jimmie Johnson recovered from a spin on lap 16 to lead 19 laps and finish 11th.
