“A sad, sad woman” – Martina Navratilova wastes no time in slapping a user who mocked Serena Williams

Ever since Serena Williams announced her retirement, she’s been on everyone’s lips. While much of the tennis world has showered his blessings on it, a handful have also criticized the legend. A glimpse of it was featured on Twitter yesterday.

Yesterday, August 11th, a Twitter user tried to ridicule Serena. Although Serena’s fans took up the protective charge, it was Martina Navratilova who acted as the icing on the cake. Navratilova, known for her active presence on social media, didn’t take time to smack the user.

Martina Navratilova comes to the rescue of Serena Williams

Over the years, serena has rightly managed to garner a loyal following. A fan base that clearly has a no-nonsense attitude towards their favorite player. Learning of the Twitter user’s unfair criticism, a fan promptly came to save the 23-time Grand Slam champion.

Quoting the tweet, he wrote, Such ignoramuses should not be allowed to use the internet. Apparently, this woman forgot her 2017 Australian Open win, not to mention the fact that she’s now OVER 40! Absolutely idiotic mood. What has she ever done? Don’t worry, I’m waiting..

Responding to his own tweet, he continued to ping Navratilova to get her views. An admirer of Serena since her formative years, Navratilova replied: “You said it. A sad, sad woman…”

Apparently the woman was beaten wroteLet’s face it, you retire because you’re just not as good as you used to be. You just haven’t been the same since you lost the Calendar Grand Slam in 2015. I’m so happy that Serena is retiring, I’m so tired of her playing the victim.”

While Serena slammed the Twitter user in a graceful tone, it wasn’t always the case. Back in the past, in 2015, Serena experienced highs in her career. The American sensation won 3 Majors and 2 Masters tournaments to end the year as world No. 1. However, that didn’t stop trolls from sending jibes against their muscular builds.

Angered by such unfair criticism of Serena, Navratilova took her in Twitter handlewho slam trolls. Navratilova addressed them as “losers” and condemned the trolls, referring them to the “STFU”.
