“I think Novak Djokovic should be able to play but…”

In one of Patrick Mouratoglou’s recently released images from a training session with Simona Halep, a butterfly appeared on one of the water bottles. This sign is believed to be positive as 2021 Australian Open champions Novak Djokovic and Naomi Osaka both had butterfly encounters.

Some fans noticed the sign. “This butterfly is a good sign. In AO 2021, Naomi and Novak crashed into some butterflies and ended up winning,” one fan commented. “I saw a butterfly. You know what that means,” said another fan.

In addition to the photo with the butterfly, Patrick Mouratoglou also posted pictures showing Simona Halep preparing for the US Open. “The best way to deal with competitive pressure is the quality of preparation,” Mouratoglou said in the pictures.

As for her performance before the Grand Slam, Simona Halep canceled her last match, Cincinnati’s second-round match against Veronika Kudermetova, due to a right thigh injury. Before that, Simona Halep clinched the title in Toronto after reaching three semifinals on grass last season.

It was her first title since Mouratoglou was hired in April. Mouratoglou reacted to Instagram after winning the title. “First of all, I would like to say a big thank you to the incredible Romanian crowd in Toronto, who gave such important support to Simona during this victorious past week,” Mouratoglou wrote on Instagram.

“Thirdly I would like to congratulate Simona. You’ve been an incredible competitor all week and once again showed why you have such a relentless run. Once again, it’s an honor to be by your side.”

Roddick comments on Djokovic

On Tuesday, Andy Roddick stated that no player or tournament would dictate government policy, citing Novak Djokovic’s ongoing struggle to enter the New York Grand Slam.

“Probably true. I think he should be able to play but spamming everything about the US Open is pointless. Throwing your toys all over Twitter isn’t going to change government policy. A tennis tournament, and a particular player is not going to dictate government policy.

You can get mad at me if necessary when it comes to basic facts,” he wrote. The three-time US Open champion usually posts his schedule on his website well in advance, but has not currently listed the US Open. “There are no scheduled events below this moment,” Djokovic’s official website reads.

While the sticking point in the whole ordeal was Novak Djokovic not taking the COVID-19 vaccine, he has remained adamant about his decision not to get the vaccine.
