Serena Williams reveals how her daughter Olympia feels about tennis lately.

The 40-year-old tennis legend said as part of the “A Conversation with Champions” panel ahead of the US Open at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel in New York City that she and her 4-and-a-half-year-old daughter all share the same interests — except the court.

“She’s my little buddy,” Williams said on the forum moderated by Sheinelle Jones and Dylan Dreyer today Show. “We do everything together. We go on dates and it’s so cool because she likes everything I do except tennis.

“She’s really fun. I see a lot of my personality in her and it’s just such a great time to have her here now to see what I do on a daily basis,” Williams continued of her little one, who she shares with her husband Alexis Ohanian.

It’s not the first time the 23-time Grand Slam champion, who was pregnant with the Olympics when she won the 2017 Australian Open, has called her daughter unimpressed with tennis.

“She likes tennis, but I don’t know. Honestly, she likes it play piano‘ Williams said while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live last September. “When she was in my stomach, I played a lot of piano music.”

Around the same time, the mother posted an adorable picture tick tock by Olympia, who leads her on the keys and even sings a few notes.

“Olympia is a boss,” she captioned the video.

Serena’s sister also featured in Thursday’s forum Venus Williamsand Naomi Osaka, Rafael Nadal and Nick Kyrgios ahead of the US Open. The tournament will take place from August 29th to September 11th at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, New York.

There, Serena will attempt to win a history-making 24th Grand Slam before beginning an “evolution” away from tennis, she announced September cover of Fashion earlier this month.

At the Conversation with Champions panel, Serena reconsidered her definition of what her “evolution” means.

“It’s more of an evolution of Serena,” she explained. “So for me, I feel like a lot of people could relate to that. Sometimes you just have a platform to just talk about it, which a lot of people can’t really put into words or really talk about. Yes, it’s just a development.

“I’m excited about the new things I’ve done and will continue to do,” she added.

And while the star will meet Danka Kovinić of Montenegro in the first round on Monday, she is also looking forward to future successes off the pitch.

In her Fashion Essay, Serena said she “reluctantly wanted to admit” to herself or those around her that “I need to get off tennis.” But the founder of investment firm Serena Ventures said she wants to focus her attention elsewhere, and she and her husband hope to have another child.

“I’ve never liked the word retirement,” she wrote. “It doesn’t feel like a modern word to me. I thought of this as a transition, but I want to be sensitive about how I use this word, which means something very specific and important to a community of people. Perhaps evolution is the best word to describe what I intend to do.”
