Serena Williams “consulted” Meghan Markle and Prince Harry over her decision to retire from tennis

tennis superstar Serena Williams close friends consulted Prince Harry and Megan Markle before deciding to retire from the sport this year.

Williams opened up about Meghan Markle’s new archetypes Spotify Podcast that she consulted the couple before making her decision earlier this month.

Prince Harry reportedly tried to give the 23-time Grand Slam winner some sanity, with Meghan claiming Williams and her husband talked “for hours” about what to do.

In the podcast chat, Williams said, “You’ve known about this for a long time, and I’ve talked to Harry about it a lot too.”

Meghan, 41, replied: “I remember the day you were here at the house. And I said, ‘What are you talking about right now?’ It must have been a solid one, about an hour.’

The pair appear to have been consulted because, according to the insider, they are “very familiar” with the challenges of “breaking away from a role that has defined them.”

Harry and Meghan stepped down as working members of the royal family in January 2020 to move into a lavish mansion in Montecito, California, with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.

Speaking on the podcast, Meghan said: “The three of us really know that sometimes making the right decision isn’t the easiest decision.

Meghan launched her long-awaited Spotify podcast last week, speaking to a range of guests about Archetypes – starting with tennis star Serena Williams. She faced renewed criticism after making a claim about a fire on a royal tour that was denied by Buckingham Palace

She claimed she was forced to continue her engagements on a tour of South Africa, although she was in tears when her son Archie narrowly escaped a fire in his bedroom.

The former actress also lashed out at those who criticized her for being “ambitious” when she started dating Prince Harry during a wide-ranging discussion.

Her podcast came just before Meghan’s bombshell interview with The Cut, a New York magazine, where she was criticized for “comparing herself.”

Meghan claims she was told by a ‘The Lion King’ cast member in 2019 that South Africans were ‘dancing in the streets’ like when ‘Mandela was freed from prison’ when her son Archie was born.

But Americans have branded her recent comments “nauseous” and claimed she’s “so out of touch” with the real world.

She was also slammed for “using her title” to “destroy the institution” that gave it to her after the couple decided to step down as working royals.

Meghan’s new bombshell interview even claims that she and Prince Harry “messed up the dynamics of the hierarchy… just by their existence” before quitting.
