IndyCar results and points to Portland: The NTT IndyCar Series will enter its season finale on September 11 at WeatherTech Laguna Seca Raceway closest championship fight in 19 years.

41 points separate the five drivers who are still qualified for the championship. Will Power leads the standings by 20 points over Josef Newgarden and Scott Dixon, with Marcus Ericsson (down-39 points) and Portland Grand Prix winner Scott McLaughlin (-41) also in the hunt.

The 2003 Indy Racing League Finals saw a 30-point spread from first to fifth place (Dixon won his first championship by 18 points over Gil De Ferran).

McLaughlin won from pole position in Portland on Sunday when Alex Palou (12th) and Pato O’Ward (fourth) were out of the championship fight.
