Chris Evert hits back at a fan who points out at her hatred letter to Serena Williams

Chris Evert denies allegations she has an agenda against Serena Williams

Chris Evert Recently, a fan hit back, pointing out that she has an agenda against it Serena Williamsallegedly evident in an old letter Evert wrote down for the tennis legend.

Chris Evert penned a heartfelt letter to Serena Williams in 2006, dating back to when the 23-time major champion was suffering many setbacks in her tennis career. The 18-time Major winner was unhappy with how the letter was perceived and claimed her intentions were misunderstood by certain people on social media.

As per the letter, Chris Evert had expressed strong feelings about William’s career path and expressed his disappointment at the now 40-year-old’s underperforming results. The tennis veteran continued to advise Serena Williams to focus fully on her tennis career in her prime.

“Just a few years ago, when you were fully committed to the game, you showed the athleticism, shooting, and competitive spirit to become the greatest player of all time. Many but me shared the same feeling. You won five of the six Grand Slams you competed in in the 2002 and 2003 seasons and looked absolutely dominant doing it,” Evert noted in the letter.

“Then you got distracted by injuries, pet projects and indifference and you’ve only won one major in the last seven games you’ve played. I find these results difficult to fathom. You’re just too good not to win two Grand Slam titles a year. You’re still only 24, way into your prime. These are crucial years that you will never get back. Why not devote yourself fully to the next five years and see what you can achieve?” the letter continued.

The letter came to light when a fan accused Chris Evert of being tough Coco Gaufferrors on the pitch.

“Chris Evert is just as bad at naming play for Coco Gauff as she is for Serena. Coco makes a great shot. Be silent. Coco makes a mistake. She goes into it. This is not hypersensitivity. That can be quantified over the entire game.”

Another fan then used the said letter against Evert, claiming that she also had a not-so-constructive attitude towards the recently retired tennis legend.

“Chris Evert’s stance on Serena Williams is long-standing. Check out this letter she wrote to Serena in 2006.”

Noticing the interaction, the former American tennis player hit back at its negative connotations, saying Williams only won several more slams after taking her advice.

“And after that she signed and won 18 more,” Evert noted.
