Venus and Serena played their last doubles tournament at the US Open. They were beaten by Czech pair Linda Nosková and Lucie Hradecká in the first round of the US Open at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. The William sisters were defeated 7-6(5), 6-4 in the first round of the US Open doubles tournament.

In the second set, the Czech couple led 4:1. But the American sisters managed to stage a comeback by winning three games in a row. The Czechs then held serve to take a 5-4 lead and Serena was broken in the final game to win the match.

Before leaving the court, the legendary Venus and Serena Williams embraced. The audience applauded the sisters and gave them a standing ovation.

Serena Williams has already announced that this will be her last competition. However, her sister Venus Williams, 42, has not made any announcements about her tennis plans.
