Meet the full coaching staff of Carlos Alcaraz ahead of the US Open final

We take a look at Carlos Alcaraz’s coaching staff as well as his agent, physiotherapist and doctor ahead of 2022 US Open Final.

Carlos Alcaraz is in his first Grand Slam final at the US Open 2022, where he is competing Kasper Ruud. If Alcaraz can win the US Open, he will become the youngest player (19 years and four months) to become world No. 1 since Lleyton Hewittwho was 2001 years old when he became world No. 1.

That year, Alcaraz won his first ATP 500 title at the Rio Open in February 2022. He then went on to win his first ATP Tour Masters 1000 title at the Miami Open. He won his second at the 2022 Mutua Madrid Open, beating defending champion Alexander Zverev.

Carlos Alcaraz’ main coach is Juan Carlos Ferrero

Carlos Alcaraz’s coach is Juan Carlos Ferrero. Ferrero is a Spanish former No. 1 and 2003 French Open winner who first trained with Alexander Zverev.

However, in recent years he has worked closely with Alcaraz on his Equelite Academy. Speaking about how talented Carlos is, Juan said (via tennis majors):

“It’s hard to compare [anyone] Roger Federer of course, but if I had to name one [in comparison to Carlos]I’m looking for someone who is very aggressive and can move a lot on the pitch and Roger is the best in those situations. He can play on any surface and can play any style.”

He told that ATP Tour this week in New York: “He has a special way of connecting with people, it’s really magnetic.

“The way he gives his all and plays everything on the pitch, with that intensity and speed in his shots. He can do so many things during a game and that’s what amuses people. I enjoy watching him play and I’ve been involved in the world of tennis for so long.”

The rest of Carlos Alcaraz’s coaching staff

Carlos Alcaraz’s coaching staff also consists of several other people. There is Juanjo Moreno, Carlos’ physiotherapist.

Carlos credited Juanjo Moreno for his success in the 2022 Miami Open finals. He said: “Well he told me everyone knows it will be my first final but when I think about this being the first game of the tournament try to manage the nerves like I did in the semis. “

Moreno added: “If I had to highlight two of Carlos’ strengths, I would prefer his talent and the work culture he receives from the team.”

There are also Alberto Molina Lopez in the corner of Alcaraz. Lopez has been Carlos’ agent and manager since he was 13. He is a former representative of David Ferrer and Nicolás Almagro. Alberton is an agent at multinational IMG, one of the largest sports agencies in the world. He has linked Alcaraz with sponsors such as Nike, Rolex and Babolat.

Other members of the Alcaraz team are Alberto Lledó (fitness trainer), Álex Sánchez (fitness trainer), Fran Rubio (physio) and Juan José López (doctor).

“I’m a cop!”

Alcaraz defeated Italy’s Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals of the US Open in an epic match that lasted 5 hours and 18 minutes.

As reported by brandIn the fifth set, when he was leading 6-5, Alcaraz started a screaming match with his coaches as a source of motivation.

“I’m a Taurus, I’m a Taurus!” shouted Alcaraz, using what Ferrero described as self-help phrases to get rid of his fatigue and motivate him.
